Less Silence, More Lucidity: Queensrÿche’s “Empire” to Be Reissued

with 3 comments

EMI has announced a deluxe edition of Queensrÿche’s Empire for the album’s 20th anniversary. The LP, the band’s most successful in the U.S. thanks to Top 10 hit “Silent Lucidity,” will feature three B-sides (previously included on a remastered edition in 2003) and a bonus disc of unreleased material recorded live at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in 1990.

Like many of EMI’s recent reissues, the set will be packed in a lidded box with some extra collectible cards and posters inside.

This set is to be released September 14. Read the full press release here and hit the jump for the full track list.

  1. That is a pretty good tracklisting for Disc 2, but it does seem a little short. It would have been nice to have Another Rainy Night and Anybody Listening? included as well. I am guessing the disc has room for more than 10 tracks.

    • According to what I read in another forum, the reason there are only ten tracks on Disc 2 is because the rest of that show was devoted to a full performance of the “Operation Mindcrime” album which was already released on a reissue of that album. So if you own the Operation Mindcrime reissue and this Empire reissue, you’ll have the full live show.

  2. I’m a huge QR fan but I will have to debate on whether or not to pick this one up. I have the 2003 remaster and the dvd-audio version as well. Assuming all those songs on the second disc have never been released it might be worth it. Guess it will depend on the price.
