“Isn’t Anything” Sacred? Another MBV Release Date Change

with 6 comments

It’s unsurprising and a bit morbidly hilarious to report, as Slicing Up Eyeballs did the other day, that reissues of My Bloody Valentine’s shoegaze masterpieces Isn’t Anything and Loveless have been delayed once again. The straight remastered discs are slated for release on March 14, pushed back from a prior date in January, itself part of a long line of releases that stretch back to June of 2008.

These things better sound flawless. Veteran collectors: what other reissue/remaster/box set delays can you remember as long as or longer than this wait? Sound off below.

  1. Neil Young’s Archive Series? I seem to remember release dates from the late 80s being reported in Rolling Stone. We finally got Volume 1 a couple of years ago.

  2. Sorry, posted too soon. I meant to continue saying that it was worth the wait as the presentation on Blu-ray is fantastic. I’m quite willing to wait for Volume 2 and beyond if they maintain the high level of quality.

  3. Off-topic: I am looking forward to see Crowded House CDs reissues, especially those albuns from 80´s and early 90´s.

Do you guys heard anything about these?

    • Back in July, Gerry from Pause & Play interviewed Crowded House for the paper he works for, and I’d asked him to ask if there was ever any catalogue discussion between the band and EMI (outside of a compilation once every few years). It didn’t make the final article but Nick Seymour, the bassist, offered some insight. http://theseconddisc.com/2010/07/15/how-crowded-is-emis-house/

      • Boy, I would love to see Crowded House reissues, especially with all of the fan club only live releases they’ve done through the years, etc. etc. etc., there would be plenty of material to draw from.
